Why can an API call use a different number of credits?
Some displayed API costs are ranges or recent averages rather than a fixed price. Inputs and returned usage can affect the final charge. Review the API page before running it and check the usage record afterward. The API response’s cost field represents elapsed time in milliseconds, not charged credits. If a charge looks incorrect, share the request ID with support and omit your API key.
